Sports Massage

Description

Sports Massage is a technical massage ideal for anyone engaging in mountain sports, particularly skiing and cycling, but it is not just for athletes – Sports Massage is perfect for anyone looking to remedy specific stiffness or soreness. Sport Massage can target the whole body but will generally focus on one area that treatment is sought for. Sports Massage treatment uses a range of techniques, including: soft tissue release, myofascial release, Trigger Point Therapy, Muscle Energy Technique and stretching.

Benefits

A Sports Massage at Chalet Rosière will prepare your muscles pre sport and aid post sport muscle recovery, allowing you to wake up the next morning feeling ready to do it all over again. Sports Massage can: reduce pain, reduce muscle fatigue and tension, improve circulation and lymphatic flow, assist in metabolic waste removal, reduce delayed onset muscle soreness, improve muscle length and tone, increase joint mobility, remove scar tissue, improve postural imbalances and assist in the physical recovery post sport.

Thai Massage

Description

Thai massage involves acupressure, gentle twisting, deep passive stretching, rocking and gentle rhythmic pressing along the major muscles and energy lines. This oil free Massage is performed on a mat on the floor, where you will lie fully clothed. Using her hands, arms and feet your therapist will use interactive techniques to passively stretch your muscles, releasing all tension and improving flexibility.

Benefits

Thais recognise that musculoskeletal pain and lack of mobility is often the result of muscles shortening due to repetitive strain. Thai Massage stretches the muscles back to their natural resting length and stops any further muscle shortening. Tension disappears, joint mobility is restored, and the risk of injury is reduced.

Swedish Massage

Description

This full body massage uses oil and firm gliding strokes. Swedish Massage is gentler than Sports, Indonesian or Deep Tissue massages but is still an effective treatment. Swedish Massage is our most relaxing massage.

Benefits

Swedish massage improves circulation, removes toxins, increase lymphatic drainage and boosts the immune system. It will leave you feeling refreshed and recharged.

Deep Tissue Massage

Description

Deep Tissue is an oil massage similar to Swedish Massage that uses slower movements and deeper pressure. This treatment concentrates on specific areas of pain to release chronic muscle tension, focusing on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia. Deep Tissue Massage uses direct pressure, friction and neuromuscular techniques.

Benefits

We recommend Deep Tissue Massage for guests wanting to get rid of serious aches and pains after a long day on the mountain. It can also be extremely relaxing. Deep Tissue Massage breaks down limiting adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement. A great all round treatment.

Indonesian Massage

Description

Indonesian Massage is an oil massage similar to Deep Tissue Massage but it is more intense and there are differences in how the massage is applied. Pushing and plucking techniques are used to work more deeply, and the body is moved into certain positions so that the treatment can reach deep into specific muscles and joints. Passive stretching is also introduced the get maximum length out of shortened muscles.

Benefits Indonesian Massage is incredibly effective at easing muscle and joint pain. This intense massage breaks down tensely knotted tissue and promotes harmony of body and mind.

Indian Head Massage

Description

During Indian Head Massage deep kneading and compression movements are applied over the neck, shoulders and scalp with some gentle stimulation and strokes over pressure points in the face.

Benefits

Indian Head Massage feels incredible and is intensely relaxing. It will leave you feeling grounded, energised and revitalised. Indian Head Massage can also help ease fatigue, headaches and insomnia.

Natural Facelift Massage

Description Combining a blend of acupressure and reflexology, this deeply relaxing facial massage will restore your skin’s natural suppleness by toning subcutaneous collagen and elastic fibres.
